Today saw Meghan appear in a new episode of The Jamie Kern Lima Show.

It proved to be an emotional episode for the duchess, who found herself wiping her eyes while opening up about herself.

“We spend so much of our lives trying to prove something, to prove that you’re enough, you have to prove that you’re pretty enough, you have to prove you’re smart enough, you have to prove that you’re a good wife or a good friend,” Meghan said in the interview.

I was like ‘I am just so done with the proving game and if you can’t see it, I don’t need to prove to you why that’s your loss.’

“And I was like ‘I am just so done with the proving game and if you can’t see it, I don’t need to prove to you why that’s your loss,’” she continued.

“I know that I’m a great friend, and I know the kind of mum I am, and I know the kind of human being I am, and I know how I show up. And I love being able to be that person with the people that I love,” she then went on to say.

Whilst talking about her children, Meghan grew teary-eyed.

Jamie asked her: “When Lili[bet] grows up, what are your hopes that she would share and say about her mother?”

“Aww, what a great question. I hope she says, I’ll know that they’ll feel like, ‘Oh my gosh, no one has ever loved someone more than the way our mum loved us,” Meghan replied. “I put that in practice. It’s part of every day how I show up for them, I read a lot of parenting books. I really want to be good at it.”

Meghan then revealed that she has created secret email accounts for her children, which she will give them when they’re older. The duchess revealed that she emails the accounts every night before bed, with anecdotes and pictures.

Becoming emotional, she said that she hopes Archie and Lilibet will be able to look at the email accounts and realise “she [Meghan] has loved us so much”.

Wiping away tears, Meghan added: “And that’s the best part about being a mum. We go back to a love language or gifts. It’s not about the grandeur of a gesture. It’s about ‘I see you, I’m nurturing you, and I see you so deeply, and I love being able to see your growth.’”

“I’m just so proud of them,” she said, before laughing and drying her eyes.

“They’re just so… it’s just so great,” she continued. “It’s just the greatest gift you can give [raising and nurturing her children]. It’s the gift that will cost you nothing. And it will mean everything to your children.”
